VE Commercial Vehicles Limited

VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV) is a 50-50 joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Limited and is headquartered at New Delhi. This joint venture came into effect in July 2008.
  • The Eicher Group began its business operations in 1959 with the roll out of India’s first tractor and today has diversified business interests in design, development, manufacturing, sales and distribution of trucks, buses, motorcycles, auto components and gears.
  • Founded in 1927, Volvo is one of the world´s leading manufacturers of heavy commercial vehicles and diesel engines. Volvo's business areas comprise of Volvo Trucks, Mack, Renault Trucks, Volvo Buses, Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Penta, Volvo Aero and Volvo Financial Services. Founded almost 80 years ago, the Volvo Truck Corporation (VTC) is the second largest producer of heavy trucks and transport solutions world over. They supply the haulage industry with complete transport solutions and are supported by over 2300 dealerships and workshops in more than 140 countries.
  • VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) is a leading full-range commercial vehicle player in India. It aims to drive modernisation in india and the developing world.
  • VECV comprises of four major business verticals, which are:

    Eicher Trucks and Buses (ETB), Pithampur- Manufacturing, product development & designing, sales and after sales support of Eicher Trucks (LD,MD,HD) and Buses

    Volvo Truck India (VTI), Bangalore- Sales and after sales support of Volvo trucks in India

    Eicher Engineering Components (EEC), Thane, Dewas , Pithampur & Gurgaon - Manufacturing Power-train components, gear and gear boxes assemblies for a global client base including OEMs and marketing of component spares.

    Eicher Engineering Solutions (EES) Gurgaon, USA & China- Design, development and consultation services for customised engineering solutions.

  • As on date, VECV has over 4000 employees with a sales & support network that spreads across more than 300 points in the country.
  • Despite being a fairly young organization, VECV earned a revenue of 24,992 MINR while generating 2,974 MINR of positive cash flow even after accounting for capital expenditure for the year ending December, 31st, 2009.
  • VECV’s consolidated total income (net of excise) closed at 30,440.7 MINR, with a PBT figure of 1873.1 MINR for the year ending December, 31st, 2009.
